Tennis Games For Kids

Tennis is a very active sport that encourages running and hand eye cordination. It can be a great way to get ones exercise in for the day while having fun and learning to play a game. Children at a young age can be exposed to the game of tennis and learn the basic rules of playing. This allows them to set up a path for future oppertunities with the game of tennis and maybe even get them to want to further take some lessons. What are some tennis games for kids that will spark some interest in the game and get them comfortable with tennis?

Interactive tennis video games are a great way to get the kids interested in tennis. The children are playing and interacting in video games at the same time they are learning elements of tennis such as rules of play, termonology, and even basic movements. Although this isn't exactlly playing the game of tennis it is generating a bit of interest in the game. Children love video games and anything that allows them to play a video game will grab their interest. Maybe this would lead to a some interest in actually trying out tennis.

Spend a day on the tennis court. Many cities have public tennis courts that can be used by the people of the city. Taking a day and allowing the kids to play around the tennis court will hopefully spark interest in the game. Some games that can be played on the court is to see how many times you can hit the ball back and forth. It doesn't really require proper movement but it will get them playing and comfortable with the game.

Another possibility is to see how many times the kids can hit the ball against the backboard without missing. This will allow a bit of challange to the children while getting them to play. As the child gets older the games can get a bit more technical in nature. The younger they are the more it is about getting the children interested and comfortable with tennis and hopefully the rest will follow.
